The Gateway Hub was a program of creative placemaking in Fishermans Bend to build community, celebrate the proud legacy of innovation and manufacturing in Fishermans Bend, and inspire creativity and collaboration to help shape its future.

The program of events and place activation is now curated and managed by FB IDEAs.  For more info go to: www.fbideas.org

Delivered in partnership between the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne, the Gateway Hub initiative was a component of the broader Gateway to GMH project, and was part of the early phase urban renewal of Fishermans Bend.

The Gateway Hub was a program of events and storytelling that weaved together the legacy of innovation and manufacturing in Fishermans Bend, with the emerging creativity and experimentation of the future.

Located at Shed 21 on the Birrarung (Yarra River) just under the Bolte Bridge, the Gateway Hub was a focal point to connect local community, workers, industry, businesses and residents in Fishermans Bend. From April 2022 to June 2023, it offered a curious program of cultural events including talks, tours,  creative and industry demonstrations, sporting activities and alternative food options.  Find out more on the Past Events page.
